Texas A&M held their first spring game under new head coach Kevin Sumlin and as expected, there were plenty of fireworks. Quarterback Jameill Showers continued to impress with 203 yards passing and two scores. Wide receiver Ryan Swope was the star of the day with eight receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Christine Michael sat out the spring game but Ben Malena managed 117 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
There is no doubt that the offense should produce under Sumlin but the Aggies need the quarterback play to be a bit more polished if they are going to survive the SEC. Also, a receiver needs to step up opposite Swope to keep teams from doubling up on him.
