"Ideally, I want a 1,000-yard rusher from the tailback spot and around 600 or 700 yards from the quarterback," Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill said. Stockstill also mentioned that he is hoping running back Phillip Tanner has "his best year."
Tanner is coming off a knee injury that cost him nearly all of the 2009 season. He has a good shot a becoming that 1000-yard back Stocksitll craves. But he is going to have to wrestle carries away from quarterback Dwight Dasher and running back D.D. Kyles.
