Lafonte Thourogood moving to RB

Vanderbilt freshman Lafonte Thourogood is moving from quarterback to running back, according to head coach James Franklin.

Thourogood, who is redshirting, chose Vandy over Virginia Tech on signing day last season, and at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, is going to be a load in the backfield.  With the emergence of Jordan Rodgers, the presence of Wyoming transfer Austin-Carta Samuels, and two additional freshman, Thourogood saw an opportunity to get on the field more quickly at a different position.
